Midwifery Care during Pregnancy

During this special time, many questions, wishes, concerns, or fears may arise. In an initial consultation, we can clarify many of these issues. Learn more about our work and let us discover together how your wishes and ideas can best be fulfilled. 

If you wish, we can accompany you throughout your entire pregnancy until birth. 

Regular midwifery services are covered by health insurance according to the official fee schedule. 

High-risk pregnancy? We are here for you.

Even if you are experiencing a so-called high-risk pregnancy, we will support you. We work closely with your OB-GYN as part of your care.

Antenatal Care

You can come to the birth centre for all routine antenatal check-ups. We provide medical care in accordance with maternity guidelines (maternity record), including:

  • Determining the baby´s size and position
  • Monitoring the baby´s heartbeat
  • CTG if required
  • Blood pressure measurement
  • Blood tests
  • Urine tests
  • Vaginal examinations if necessary
  • Blood sugar screening
  • Pregnancy counseling

 

If any abnormalities are found during examinations, we will support you with appropriate treatment methods. If needed, we will refer you to your OB-GYN practice and continue to care for you in cooperation with them.

A key focus of our antenatal care is conversation.

We´ll take the time at every appointment to discuss the changes in your life, beyond medical checks alone.

 

Support for Pregnancy Discomforts

We are happy to support you with pregnancy-related discomforts using a wide range of approaches, including:

  • Acupuncture
  • Hypnosis
  • EEH - Emotional First Aid
  • Osteopathy
  • Physical exercises (e.g. pelvic floor)
  • Massage
  • Herbal medicine
  • Taping

 

If your discomforts are stress-related, we offer in-depth conversations to help process these issues and relieve symptoms.

Osteopathy during Pregnancy

Back pain, sciatica, or pelvic instability can occur at any stage of pregnancy. In osteopathic treatment, we first look for the cause through manual examination. Targeted osteopathic techniques can then release blockages and tension, allowing your body – especially your pelvis – to move more freely. This often leads to significant symptom relief.

Acupuncture during Pregnancy

Our acupuncture treatment can prepare you for childbirth from the 36th week of pregnancy onward and help relieve pregnancy-related discomfort. Statistically, birth-preparatory acupuncture can shorten the duration of labor by about two hours. For this purpose, the acupuncture sessions take place once a week.

Massage during Pregnancy 

Birth-Preparing Massage

This massage helps you prepare physically and mentally for birth. It promotes circulation, relaxes tense muscles, reduces stress, enhances well-being, and strengthens your connection with your baby. Available from the 34th week of pregnancy.

Lomi-Lomi Massage

A traditional Hawaiian massage that releases tension and promotes inner balance. Flowing movements and warm oil deeply relax the entire body.

Taping during Pregnancy

Kinesiology taping is a gentle, holistic therapy method that can be used in many ways around pregnancy and birth. Special application techniques stimulate the body’s self-healing processes. 

The cotton tape used is self-adhesive, breathable, and barely noticeable. Taping can help with neck tension, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and pelvic instability during pregnancy.

Emotional First Aid

Pregnancy brings major changes that can feel overwhelming or unsettling for expectant parents. Physical changes, hormonal fluctuations, and preparing for parenthood can make it harder to stay connected with oneself and the unborn baby. Past birth experiences can also trigger fears or emotional crises.

Emotional First Aid is a body-oriented approach that supports expectant parents in coping with these stresses, restoring inner balance, and building a positive bond with the unborn baby.

Hypnosis during Pregnancy

Many people are familiar with trance-like states where attention is fully focused and everything else fades into the background. Hypnosis intentionally uses this natural state to promote relaxation and pain relief. 

During pregnancy, hypnosis can help you experience deep relaxation, reduce discomfort and sleep problems, strengthen bonding with your baby, and prepare for birth. Since labor often feels trance-like, you can practice using this state as a positive resource during birth. Hypnosis can also help address fears and build confidence and trust.
