Antenatal Classes

Getting ready for birth with time and calmness

In the antenatal class, you can fully focus on this exciting new phase of life.

Many questions arise: What changes are happening in my body during pregnancy? How does labor actually progress? What is the postpartum period? How does breastfeeding work, and what is life like with a newborn? Through relaxation, body, and movement exercises, you will gain practical knowledge and skills for pregnancy and birth. We also place great emphasis on providing partners with ways to support and be involved. Of course, there is plenty of time in the course to connect with others and get to know one another.

We offer antenatal classes in various formats (see below). All classes should ideally be completed about 2–4 weeks before the expected due date.

The fee for the pregnant person is covered by health insurance.

We offer:

Antenatal Classes for Couples (Evenings)

Antenatal Classes for Women* (Mornings)

Antenatal Classes for Couples (Weekends)

Antenatal Classes fr Parents (expecting again)

Yoga for pregnant women

A wonderful companion during pregnancy

This yoga class is designed to become more in tune with your body and to calm your mind. The individual yoga poses and sequences are specifically adapted for the pregnant body. Your back is strengthened, your pelvic floor and abdomen are gently trained, and your overall fitness is improved. Breathing exercises prepare you for coping with contractions during labor and enhance your well-being during pregnancy.

Short meditations, body awareness exercises, and the traditional yoga relaxation at the end help reduce stress and bring you closer to yourself and your baby. The course also focuses on preparing you for the challenges of childbirth. The course takes place in a closed group, giving you the opportunity to meet other pregnant participants. Antenatal yoga is not typically covered by health insurance, but it may be worth asking your insurer if a subsidy is available. This class is in German.

Remission

Focusing on pelvic floor stability

Our postnatal recovery classes are led by midwives here at the Birth Center. We recommend starting a class no earlier than 8 weeks after a vaginal birth or 12 weeks after a cesarean section. Health insurance covers the cost of the class if you complete the 7-week program before your child turns 10 months old.

In postnatal recovery, our main goal is to help you reconnect with your body and regain a sense of stability after birth. Starting with the pelvic floor, the focus is on developing a mindful awareness of how your body functions as a whole. Our exercises are designed to strengthen your body and enhance your overall well-being. The course also provides space for discussion and questions with the midwife. In courses without children, each session concludes with a relaxation exercise. The classes are in German.

Fitness for Mothers

Exercise and fun after postnatal recovery

If you want to continue being active after postnatal recovery exercises, you are welcome to join our fitness class. You can attend either immediately after the postnatal recovery class or later, up until your child’s first birthday.
Each session begins with warm-up exercises to get you moving and break a light sweat, followed by stabilizing and strengthening exercises for the entire body. Special attention is given to the pelvic floor. We are also happy to incorporate participants’ individual requests.
This course is not only about physical activity—it’s also about taking time for yourself, connecting with other mothers, and, of course, having fun. This class is in German.

Self-Care without guilty conscience

(Becoming and Being a Mother)

Monthly open group for mothers*

The topic of self-care is becoming increasingly important for mothers—and for good reason: mothers carry heavy responsibilities, and the desire for calm and ease is strong.

Yet it can be difficult to carve out even small moments of rest in everyday family life. Often, trying to do something good for yourself can feel like just another task. And how can you truly care for yourself if guilt is constantly following you?

In this class, you will discover what you need to practice self-care in a way that genuinely nourishes you, and how to create small, restorative spaces in your daily life—gently and without pressure.

What to expect:

  • Moderated group discussions
  • Simple, practical exercises for self-reflection and body awareness
  • Relaxation and gentle movement sessions
  • Small tips and inspiration for your everyday life

Die Gruppe ist für alle Mütter unabhängig vom Alter der Kinder offen. Kinder im ersten Lebensjahr können mitgebracht werden.

Jeden 3. Samstag im Monat 10-12 Uhr, einzeln buchbar. Der nächste Termin: 16.05.2026

Instructor: Elena Sánchez Martín, mother of two, dance and movement therapist, trauma-informed coach, cycle mentor, and founder of Mamasenda
